Dr. B.R. Barwale
(August 13, 1931 – July 24, 2017)
Padma Bhushan Dr. B.R. Barwale was widely regarded as the father of the Indian seed industry. A World Food Prize winner, he worked tirelessly to contribute to Indian agriculture and to several social causes which were dear to his heart
For all of us at Monsanto, he was true visionary and we were privileged to benefit from his leadership, guidance and unstinted commitment of our partnership
While we will miss his guiding force, we continue to remain inspired by his determination to make a lasting contribution in all that he did and his dreams for our country’s farmers
